Voluntary Contribution from Chapter Membership for the Term 2020-2021
The voluntary contribution scheme launched in the year 2018/19 was a success and the Chapter received significant amounts from our General Membership. This generous contribution enabled the Chapter to cover a part of the administrative cost and ensure that the Chapter did not incur a significant deficit during the last term 2019/20.
IESL NSW Chapter has prepared an event calendar which can be viewed elsewhere in this Newsletter. The events include 3 Public Lectures, Young Engineers Day, Women in Engineering Day, Engineering Conference, Gala Nite, and an Industrial Visit. We have planned to publish 3 Newsletters and an Engineering Magazine.
The Chapter’s main revenues are from sponsorships, advertisements and the ticket sales for the Gala Nite. Finding potential sponsors is becoming increasingly difficult which poses a challenge to Chapter’s finances. The ticket price for the Gala Nite has been subsidised to ensure adequate member participation. The chapter would like to continue the high standards maintained in the past in organising the Gala Nite.
The main components of the administrative costs are Insurance, PO Box, and catering for the Chapter events. IESL NSW Chapter kindly requests engineers living and practicing in NSW and ACT to generously contribute to the Chapter to meet a part of its administrative costs. The voluntary contribution expected is a minimum of $25.
